As you may have noticed, this blog has ceased to be active for a while now. This is because I made a personal site where I post content.

Project Levipower - Smooth Tests - 3D Digital Project
Alrighty then, I've been working on Lev for a bit and here is what I have so far. The major features of his body are done and attached together (without much trouble, phew). I need to tweak his geometry now, adding more muscle definition/details, and then i'll move on to texturing. I included a pretty old preliminary texture test of Lev's head in this post, below his full body. It doesn't include the geometry changes I made to the head so, may look a bit awkward.

Project Levipower - In Full Swing! - W.I.P. Digital Classmate
Wow, I have been very busy lately with school, projects, etc. I though I should post an update as to what is going on. My independent study project for this semester is to create a digital copy of one of the students at my high school. I already started this project some time ago. Here are some pictures to show you my progress.
First I took reference photos of the body in general and then specific areas for detail modeling. These are not all of the photos but I included a couple just for show:
And here are some renders of the model in its current state:

RISD Application Drawings - Bike Rep, Interior Env, Own Choice - Art
Here are the three required drawings I sent with my RISD application. Paper size is 16 in. by 20 in.

EDIT: So... RISD felt pity for me and decided to accept. But, at 51 grand per year (they apparently don't give fin aid to most people who get in), I think i'll go ahead and get my computer science - fine arts dual degree instead...

Project Frozen Carrot - Gold Key Award - Competition
My short film, Project Frozen Carrot, won the Gold Key award at the Boston Globe Scholastic Art & Writing competition! This means the animation will go to New York to compete in the national competition.
I posted a better quality video of the animation on YouTube, check it out here:

Project Frozen Carrot - Final Video with Sound and Music - Completed Short Film
This project sprawled out over a few months. Bit by bit, the film came together and is now ready to be displayed in its full form. The soundtrack was made with GarageBand. I would have liked to play my own music on the piano, but I was not able to do so because of time limitations. This animation will enter the Boston Globe Scholastic art contest in a few days. Due to horrible compression, the video may be a little choppy. The DVD version is higher resolution, widescreen, and plays smoothly. Here it is, enjoy:

EMP - Soldering Is Hard! - Science
Some time ago, I gathered a few of my friends (all juniors) and we began to build an electromagnetic pulse generator. Hopefully, the device will be able to turn off old calculators placed within 2 meters of the generator. This is purely a "see if we can do it" experiment. The parts are fairly small, so soldering is very tricky. The terminals on the electronic parts are close together and so it is difficult to accurately attach the wires to them. We are almost done with the dirty work of soldering the wires to the tiny terminals. Next, we have to make a simple battery holder and attach other electronic parts like switches and resistors (much easier to solder onto the circuit). I should be able to take some pictures soon and post them on this blog.
